Default Hypertech hints and tips wanted for drag setup

Hi just got my hypertech and have gotten a bunch of info out of the tech section, was just wondering if anyone can point out some advantages/disadvantages from their personal experiences racing with the hypertech on an A4 C5. Redgar I think you said you picked up 2 tenths, care to share ? Is it worth it to use their "power programming" or just play with shift points, and fans settings. :chevy

Yup 2 tenths.

Yes I used the power tuning for non reformulated gas.
Raised rev limiter to like 6500
Raised shift points, I think it was like 2 or 3 mph
Fan setting I used the lowest as I have a 160 stat

I also had the corsas and vortex in at the time.

I did the same thing and it also gave me 2 tenths.

What if I set for the 185 tstat but have a stock will I run cooler, hurt anything ? Did you adjust the shift firmness at all ? I set +2 and 3 mph on shifts and the limiter to 6300, dont think I am hitting the limiter. I will try the power programming tonight. Thanks guys I'll see you both Sat :chevy [

I had shift firmess up and took it off. It only chanes the way the car feels when it shift but it does it ALL the time including early am driving 15 mph shifting from 1 to 2 when you really don't want it.

The fans, Hypertech say not to do it but I have used a manual relay to start the fans early before and had not issues.

To be safe though, I probably would not lower fan on without he lower stat.

By the way, make sure you do the math, you don't want to be that close to the rev limiter as it will steal power. raise the limiter.
