Default LT-1 ~vs~ LT-4

My buddy has a bone stock LT-4. I've recently done a few things to my LT-1. My mods are in my signature.

Do you think that I'd give him a close race? Anyone have a guesstimate on my rearwheel horsepower?

It would come down to who is the best driver since your both 6m cars. As for RWHP your in the 260 range.

Yes, I've raced plenty of LT4 guys and LS1 guys as well and beat them with my stock LT1.

Yup my PR man MOJO has it right... I have an automatic, & usually will beat an LT4 in ET but the LT4 will have more MPH..

I'm still a green horn at this Et and mods stuff but 12.28 seems awful quick for just the mods you have in your sig. Not that I'm calling BS, I'm glad it can be done because if or when I do my "later" mods (see sig) with shorter rear axle gears maybe I could turn in those kind of ET's, if i were ever to start going to the track...

ONE OF MINE IS A 92 COUPE LT1 WITH 58 METER THROTTLE BODY, 1.6 ROLLER ROCKERS, NO CATS, FLOWMASTERS, DRM CHIP, MSD, FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR, HOT WATER BYPASS (THROTTLE BODY) AND BREATHLESS COLD AIR INDUCTION AND I'VE RACED C5'S AND LT4'S AND IT WASN'T PRETTY FOR THEM. COULD BE THAT THEY DIDN'T DRIVE WELL OR DIDN'T HAVE THE ***** TO HANG... BUT THIS ENGINE (LT1) IS A DESIGN WHICH HAS PERFORMED FOR GM CARS SINCE 1955. SOMETIMES ENGINE DESIGNERS TINKER JUST A LITTLE TO MUCH, WHEN THEY HAD A GOOD THING. i LIKE THE OTHER ENGINES BUT THOSE LT1'S ARE FUN MOTORS!

These LT1's 4's and LS1's are really so close in HP that it comes down to the driver. I saw Z28's doing 13's and Z06's doing 14's so what's with that?? Practice makes perfect!!

What kind of mods do you have. I want to run low 12's.

Those are good numbers for a LT1. It will be hard to go any faster without doing some old fashion hod rodding stuff, Stoke, bore, cam ect.......The easiest way is to force air into it supercharge it!!!

I can vouch for JP.

In fact, it was his and Mackey's success with their mild combo's that prompted my Dad to convert his LT4 to an A4.
