E-town thanks
First, while unloading the car heard a strange noise from the rear, a caliper had come off the rear upright and I'd never even had the wheels off! A few of the guys walking by saw the problem and dove right in to help, thanks Phil, Rob and everybody else.
Second, made the first time run, car nosed over in high gear so bad I thought my head would hit the dash. With help from Ralph & Phil C.(wheelsup) we decided it must be the aux. fuel pump, disconnected it and the problem went away, thanks.
Third, while working on the fuel pump problem I decided to hook up my "brand new" fuel pressure gauge, taped it to the windshield & was ready to make a pass. Tried to start the car and it ran like crap, couldn't even pull out of the pits, missing, backfires, cuts off, etc. :( Pulling hair out now, not a happy racer! Phil C. came buy and said he'd had the same problem before & to remove the gauge, problem gone! Hooked up Phils gauge to check pressure, still runs fine! Thanks Phil.
Forth, now after making a run I notice the EGT is way up there, engine is way lean. Talked with Ralph & JD, both of them said they were running more pressure than I was. So I crank it up a couple of pounds make a pass, I drop et & pick up mph :yesnod:, do it again , same result :D ! By then time runs are over & I shouldn't play any more, but I red light first round of CCC anyway.
Still had a great time, met lots of great people, was runner-up in the F-class final with a .505 RT but ran out .009, oh well thats racin'.
See ya' at the track,
Dave
Guess I'll need a new CF handle for the Green '90, to confusing now with this one!

Still had a great time,
I am sorry I did not get to meet you. I qouted a piece of your message above because all your troubles were rewarded when you went red in the first round as you WON a prize. Please read our web page and you will see....www.corvettechallenge.info
Then send me your home address and I can ensure you get you prize mailed to you.
Congrats:D
that car was previously owned by forum member Bill C who now has a Lingenfelter Twin Turbo Stage II + C5. When he owned the car(and it started with a 420 with track 1's, 219 etc etc.) It did 11.02 on motor(122 speed) and 10.X@130 on the small NOS shot that you REALLY have to look for to find. I think Bill also clicked a few 1.4 60's but had some dismal luck with breakage. It has a LOT of potential.
Dave,
Nice meeting you and speaking with you. The car seemed to like the fuel! The mph seemed to increase every run from about 116.X to 117something. Bill mentioned His WORST MPH was 120 so you've got a small amount of bugs to sort out. That's one sweet car though! I have a few runs of it on video and some still shots of launches and burnouts. Let me know if you'd like them. They're in the forum gallery-northeast section for the corvette challenge. It's on the right side bar of this page.
Catch you later.
JD

Dave,
Did you pull the fuel pump relay or unhook the power to the aux. fuel pump? If so you can not push fuel through the big aux. pump. Have tried it and you will go lean under wot. You can bypass it by running the O.E. line from the tank to the metal O.E fuel line. It will run fine N/A without the aux. pump.
Bill
JD,
Johns car was owned by me two years ago and the previous owner died from melanoma cancer. It has sat for at least 6 months and we had no idea what may have been changed on it when John purchased it.
Yes we all want to see our kids do well. I mean our old cars that we get attached too. I told Dave that if he took it to the track and it did not run right I would...
Dave can not drive an A/Trans car. Its NOT the car its the driver
Bill :)
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
First off, congrats to Ralph on your RU in the CCC  , BTW, my short times were: 1.47 @ 60, 7.11 @ 1/8. I can only assume the 219 is still in the car, but can't say for sure. Best mph in the left lane was 117.89, OK considering the weather conditions. I'm glad you said the timers in the right lane were off, I was wondering what happened on those runs.
REDGAR, I'll send you an email with my mailing address, thanks for the notice:yesnod: wish I could have duplicated that .500 light from the last time run instead!
JD, great to talk to you, I'd definately like to see the photos & videos! Yeah, it liked the fuel, to bad I ran out of time to experiment before eliminations. :(
Bill C, since it was starting to rain I just pulled off the power lead at the pump for that day. This week I'll bypass the aux. pump plumbing all together and recheck the fuel pressure next time out. Still checking everything out and learning what this beast likes and dislikes. I think I'm still trying to get it back to your baseline and correct all the little problems caused by neglect & tinkering done over the last 2 years( like the right rear caliper falling off  ).
Bud, thats for the comment on the RTs, guess I shouldn't have tried to match that .500! :nonod:
See everybody at the track, Dave

Hopefully next time you are up, it won't be as hectic.
Dave if you like, I made a tape for Bill C of some archive footage and yesterdays, e mail me your address and I'll get a copy out to you. I'll send the pics your way also! See you at the next one. Like I said, maybe we can line up even though I'll get killed....how often do I get to run ANOTHER Lingenfelter car?
J

As always it was a pleasure to see all the racers at Etown again, sorry I was so tied up trying to fix all the problems with my ride, BTW thanks again to everybody who pitched in. Next trip I hope to have more socializing time!
JD, the PO address on my card is good for snail mail, so is the email I gave you, can't wait to see the tape. You'll have to let me know the next time you're coming down, we can have a "match race"!
Mackey, can the CCC get rid of all the tolls between Virginia and Etown for us drag racers? I think it's close to $25-30 each way, OUCH! Plus $50 for gas, plus $80 for a room, Plus meals and junk, no wonder I'm wearing the numbers off my ATM card!
Still worth every penny to run at such a nice place with good people & racers,
Dave

Can't do much about the tolls but next time you could stay in the Panuzzo bedroom at my house (basement) that will save you a few bucks.
Phil knows that offer always stands.
Wheres John gonna' sleep?
Thanks for the offer!

Sounds good! I'll get the tape out tomorrow. Did you get the pics OK?
There is some event in September, Bill C mentioned. I'd tow my car to that one. It's in Maryland, not sure the details. Bill C offered for me to stay at His house and we we're going to fiddle with tuning-diacom before the runs. That's one I really might attend.
I didn't send the other guys tapes snail, priority. It's not that much more..and I think it's the only video mailer box they have.
I'll get smoked when we line up..but it'll be fun running another LPE Car :yesnod: SOMEONE HAS to take a photo of that one.
TTYL
I got the photos, just can't open them, I need the zip software.
The event Bill C. mentioned is the Sept.8th meet at Capitol Raceway, all of us locals turn out for it, hope some of you will come down for it.
Dave :D
