Are you running the stock fuel pump or did you go to a higher volume pump?
The reason I ask is on the dyno my car is making the power in the upper rpm's but at the track it's not getting the mph that you would expect with the et's it's running. The 60' time was great for street tires (1.82) and the 1/8th et and mph look right. At the end of the 1/4 it seems to be down about 3-5 mph from what I would expect with the et's it's running?
I've got the 30lb injectors, new fuel filter etc. and am wondering if the extra load from aero resistance etc. at the track is needing more fuel than the pump can deliver. I know that what the motor is pushing is putting me pretty close to the edge for the stock pump. Any thoughts since we are both at about the same RWHP?
First time at the track, temps were low 90's, typical Fl humidity. Ran a 12.701 @ 105.86, 1.82 60', 8.15 @ 86 mph 1/8. It seems to be pulling good through the 1/8. Nothing noticeable in the car at the top end of the 1/4, no miss, no knock. I'm trying to sort it out and all I can think of is that the fuel pump is not keeping up with it on the big end. What fuel pressure are you running?
