Default C6 Z06 vs Hellcat

I have been arguing a lot of time with my friends about this. What do you think? I have a bolt ons (504rwhp) C6 Z06 and I was wondering if I can beat up a Hellcat whether it's a Charger or Challenger. Both drag and street races.

Your thoughts on this?

With 500rwhp, it will be very close but I think you may have a very slight advantage from a roll...

So are you guys saying if I take it to the street, it would be somehow difficult to beat it up from a roll race?

I have seen a video on YouTube where a stock C6 Z06 that ripped of a Hellcat on the drag lane. Is this even possible while the Vette is bone stock?

You'll likely kill him from a roll...especially a hwy roll.... However in a drag race from a dig, you'll have your hands full, especially if you have never practiced launching etc...

Stock Hellcats here are going 10.90s on drag radials in decent air.. I've seen one go a 10.76 on drag radials in -1000' air..... You'd have to be a driving son of a b*tch to run that in a 500 rwhp Z06.... hell you would likely need 600 rwhp to run that.

A Hellcat on drag radials in good air is pretty tough to beat and pretty much idiot proof to drive...

Oh I don't know about that buddy...this is from our streetcar drags event last year...

But generally you are correct, unless the Z driver is well skilled in the ¼ mile and both cars are on drag radials, the smart money would be on the Hellcat.

Now if the Z driver is a great driver and the Hellcat driver is average, I'll put my money on the Z. I've beaten many much higher HP cars than mine by knowing how to cut a light and launch my car.

OP tell us your best time in the ¼ mile and we'll give you a good prediction.

As far as "roll racing" here's my opinion on that.

To the guy's credit he bought some drag radials and practiced.

Here is their rematch 3 months later.

Which proves my point, unless the Z driver can cut a light and hit low 11's or high 10's, smart money is on the Hellcat. All they need is drag radials to do this. A Z needs a lot more pilot skill to hit a low 11 (or even a middle 11 for that matter).

Make him use street tires and you use drag radials. Done.

OK this is so weird. I still haven't raced him because I am having second thoughts and kinda scared but he just raced a filter & headers ZR1 and he lost to it like 2 or 3 cars. I don't think I have any match for him.

Are you guys sure about this? From what roll should I go with him for the best?

If you get beat, you get beat. Then start modding and have a rematch. Big deal.

A well driven bolt-on C6Z will crush a Hellcat on a track.

I have driven both. My money is on a well driven Hellcat....
my dead stock '16 Challenger auto on all season street tires just went 11.2 124.5 with a 1.865 60' in + DA 1250 air. and that was hot lapping very consistant 11.3's. drag radials and good air 10.7 is doable
I am a Chevy guy ( we have 15) but this car rips and you just need to launch it to go fast. If Chevy built some thing like it I would not own a Dodge.

Ironically, I am a Mopar guy. I do appreciate the Hellcat but have not yet driven one. With that being said, I will stand by my original statement. My stock C6Z on DRs went 10.91 in good air on its third trip to the track. The best passes I have ever witnessed were Ranger going 10.71 on DRs and Dr.Ron going 10.75 on DRs. So stock for stock on DRs it could be a driver's race. Now when you change to bolt-ons, here are the results.

VERY NICE PASS!! what are the bolt ons must be heads too?
That car leaves very hard! kinda like watching my drag car leave.

(555 inch bbc Monte SS on spray runs 8.40 at 165 1.21 60 with 2 ft under the wheels for 300 ft.)

I follow the other forum as well, Just saw pulley, injector, tune, 3.09 gear drag radial Hellcat go 9.9 so still a great race.

My Hellcat had 800 miles on it went 11.2 and will stay stock except for dr's or QTP's and I use my C5Z's for road racing still own the monte but have not been out for a few years .

I will just say it is a HELL OF A GOOD TIME TO BE A CAR GUY

No heads or cam. Just bolt-ons.
Here's the article written about 3 1/2 years ago. The above posted video was back on 11/14/2014 which is the last pass I made with that setup. New setup is in and we hope to have it out shortly.

A Monte running 8.40s is sweet.
Good luck with the Hellcat. I would not mind owning one also.
