DIY Nitrous refills
I´m planning to do my own nitrous refills. So I need the big sender bottle, the small 10 lbs receiver bottles, a nitrous filter and some 4AN lines. I will cool down the receiver bottle over night in the refrigerator and keep the sender bottle warm.
Question is: Do I need some sort of pressure regulator? The pressure in the big sender bottle is around 2900 psi, the target pressure in the receiver bottle is 1050 psi, so I fear the burst plate of the receiver bottle will go ballistic

What am I getting wrong here? None of the tranfer line kits or tutorials I can find, tells a word about pressure regulators.......

Using an accurate scale is the only way to determine when the receiver bottle is properly full. DO NOT use pressure as an indicator of full, as a bottle with 1 lb inside will have the same pressure as a bottle with 10lbs inside if the liquid temperatures inside are the same.
I usually just keep the large bottle at room temp and freeze the 10lb bottle overnite, that usually creates just enough of a pressure differential between the two bottles to transfer a full 10lbs of nitrous before the pressures equalize.
Do not fill beyond the total weight of bottle+contents as listed on the label, as an overfull nitrous bottle can explode if temps rise and there is not sufficient room for expansion.
