Hoosier DR2
I'm told the DR2 has a softer side wall compared to a ET street SS and will wrinkle
Any one run these tires?

I run them also. Lightest drag radial you can get and plenty of wrinkle!

18.5 psi, measured before each and every pass. Some people apparently will only measure it once when they get to the track which makes no sense to me whatsoever.

You should not think that switching to the Hoosier will not cause any parts breakage in your stick car.
The 315 Hoosier is a great tire but is very aggressive.

The Hoosier QTP is another good choice as well as MT ET Street bias ply and the M&H Cheater slick.
Not that any tire can prevent breakage; however, these tires significantly reduce the chances.
Driving style, track prep and clutch play a significant role also.
