Default 555r on c6 base

Anyone run the Nitto 555r drag radial on their c6? Car is heads cam intake ls2 around 500whp, it値l be a 275/40/17 tire. I see a lot of guys run the nt05 looking for opinions on the 555r trying to decide between the two Nitto drag radials. Only looking for nittos since they値l see mostly street driving so mickeys are out.

I have run both and prefer the NT05R for primarily street duty with some strip action. At 500 RWHP you will be on the ragged edge of traction unless the strip is well prepped.

Yeah I have been leaning nt05 but so many of the mustang and Camaro guys like the 555rs I figured I壇 find out what other vette guys thought.

I drive 160 miles round trip to drag race at Atlanta and have no problem even in light rain with the NT05 and they are much better as far as 60' times are concered. Mustangs are heavier and have less low RPM torque so they can/do well with the 555's.

That makes sense how do you like the nt05s?

I like the NT-05, easy to install and balance. Don't require a big burnout to be effective. Don't throw a lot of rubber on the body work. Don't like the price. But you do get what you pay for.

Their only 195$ a tire for a 275/40/17 right now and I知 putting them on a set of 9.5 17inch c4 zr1 wheels

I have 305-35-19 NT05r on my car now. I spun at the track (it was 55 degrees and test and tune so prep was questionable). On a good concrete street they dead hook but LS3 is still stock with a 93 octane Diablo tune. When I need new tires I will go with Hoosiers in 275-40-17.
