I recently had a new trailer made and boy, did I goof up...I bought a 20' open trailer with a split tilt plan...the front four feet of the bed was stationary and the back 16' tilted to put the race car on/off...I had ramps made to load/unload my golf cart on the front...this is that trailer...
I picked this trailer up a week ago Tuesday in Georgia...for a number of reasons it did not work for me...one reason was that when loading the car, the fulcrum was such that when the car forward enough to drop the bed down the car was six inches into the golf cart space...also, with the car all the way to the back of the trailer and the cart all the way to the front, there was an inch between the two...sigh...I tried to return this trailer but they refused...oh well...
What to do, what to do...I unloaded my car and cart and went to a local trailer sales lot...we worked out a very favorable deal to trade in my new trailer for this...
Yesterday I picked up this 20' Continental Cargo trailer...this will fit my race car and my scooter...no golf cart but ce la vie'....I have never owned an enclosed trailer so this should be fun...I will be putting in a winch so I can load/unload the car myself...when it comes to trailers if I did not have bad luck I wouldn't have any...I am hoping for the best on this one...should be all set up and ready to go racing in 2-3 weeks...one chapter closes and another opens...lol...I am trying to turn chicken chit into chicken salad...he he he...
......buying an enclosed trailer at the race track is like buying your 1st color TV. You’ll think how did I not have this sooner? Rain, hot sun, long oil down cleanup, no problem. Best money I ever spent. 2nd best money ever spent? Get a canopy for the side to park car under and sit under while waiting for your call to lanes.
For the time being, I have bought a box fan...I will plug it into my portable generator outside and have it blow on us inside the trailer while we lounge in the camp chairs...gonna be in the 90's this weekend...ugh...the DA was +3500 on wed. night at the test n tune....sigh...
