Here I go Again...

I go up for my second time shot and then it happens...grrrrrr....I fully stage and hit the transbrake button...I mash the gas and....nothing, nyet, nuttin' honey...I am still at idle with the gas pedal laying on the floor...they push me back to the wall...I get it so I can idle in first gear back to my pit...not a happy camper to say the least...
It turns out my gas pedal broke again...for those keeping score, I broke my original pedal last August...don't understand why, it was only 41 years old...lol..we put in a new Lokar billet aluminum pedal...that screwed up at the 100 grander in Bristol over Labor Day...we could not get full throttle...we ditched the Lokar cable and went to throttle rod...man, that was sweet...smooth action and went to full throttle...it worked fine at the five day event in Georgia and then, kaboom!, on Saturday...WTF?...
Well, the pedal assembly separated at the joint on the firewall under the dash...new part failure on a 6 week old part...sheesh...today my shop re-engineered the piece with some spot welds and a longer allen set screw so it won't come apart again...we will put it back in tomorrow...I noticed a small fuel leak at the rear of the carb as well so we will fix that also...this black cloud is getting real old to be sure...
Anyway, my next event will be Thanksgiving weekend at Palm Beach for the Citrus Nationals...I will be looking to turn on some electricity, God willing and the Creek don't rise...my buddy Big Mac had some issues as well and went home right before me...hope you find your problem and thanks again for the trailer tire stopper..
p.s. I was slightly pre-occupied when I left the track and never did stop for my breakage rain check...
