is in da house...short and sweet...I tried to race Orlando yesterday and my trans brake would not work either with the brand new delay box or off the bottom bulb...also, the car was brutal to start...turned over fine but would not catch...seems like a fuel issue to me...on my time shot the t-brake did not hold so the car launched when I tried to go up on the two step...oh well...put it back on the trailer and went home....sigh...hope to get it to the wiring shop this week and then to the engine shop for the starting issue...probably my carb...once a year we have to remove the carb and break it down completely for cleaning...the ethanol in pump gas gums it up like crazy...looks like it is due...this too shall pass and I will be back out there soon...

Dan,
It was great to hang with you and ZR1 John if only for a short while.
I was comfortable back in the seat of the "Old Reliable" C5 with the C6 "Misery Machine" in the shop again with still unsolved transmission woes. However, the C5 let me know it was not happy sitting in the garage while I went out playing with the C6. After time trials of 7.78 and 7.81 I dialed 7.80 in E1 of Pro only to incredulously see a breakout 7.74 come up on the scoreboard even when lifting way before the stripe! Undaunted, I bought back into E2 and dialed at 7.75 only to have the car run 7.86!!! WTF!!! All this took place with the DA around a stinking 3000 ft.. I then got to be drenched by a downpour while loading the car on the trailer. I don't know if they finished the race or not as I was long gone.
Nonetheless, with me and the car back home in one piece it was a great day at OSW, and Lord willing, there will be another race day!
Jim
Hey Jim...good to see you out there with "old faithful"...she will settle down with some laps, I am sure...sorry I had to make a quick exit...next time I hope to stay a lot longer as I enjoy hanging out with you as well...see you around the water cooler very soon...
Thanks for the spell breaker, Kaz...lol...

Dan, use Stabil ethanol inhibitor in your gas containers for your car. It’ll fix the carb issues, if in fact, that is the cause. I use it and it works.

Thanks Pete...I have been using the Lucas ethanol additive in my race car for a year now...I'll try the Stabil next...one of the problems is my car sits outside on an open trailer 24/7/365...sigh...
OK...first issue has been dealt with...my wiring guy found the trans brake problem...it was a dead button of all things...one of the wires attaching to the button was frayed and split...only a few months old as well...anyway, new button and all better...next week the starting issue will be attacked...are we having fun yet?...
As for the ethanol issue, if you’re using Lucas oil brand inhibitor, I’d think that should do the trick. But, weirder things have happened. Worth a try with the Stabil.
Pete, we'll see if it is the usual gunk issue in the carb causing the problem...I will be surprised if the lucas stuff didn't help after a year of use...it feels like a fuel issue but who knows...could be the fuel filter, fuel pump or something completely different like spark...sigh...we'll find it for sure...
My car will not be ready for Saturday's event...I will race the BLP deal at Orlando in July...racing events slow down in summer around here...too hot and humid...96* with 90% humidity with a feels like of 102* is very common...this is with clear and sunny, btw....track temps get to 140 to 160*...not fun folks...
