Default A Lost Weekend...

I just got back from racing two events this weekend at Bradenton...I left to go over on Friday around 3PM...arrived at the track, unloaded the car and went to dinner...then on to my hotel for some rest...back to the track at 8AM ready for the race for a Wally and 5 grand...lol...we could not get the new trans brake button in so I knew I might be in for a battle in that area and I was...sigh...since I got this truck I have not been able to find a good spot on the tree...so...

They call me up for my one and only time shot...I go 10 red...this is getting old...and run 6.40...first round is called and I get a guy I know in his fox body mustang...fairly quick car, he dials 6.09...I put 6.41 on mine and off we go...well, kinda sorta...I took 3 lbs. out of the front skinnies, and...I am, you guessed it, 10 red again...I run it out and go 6.40...I buy back in and wait for round next...

Second round I get a monza dialed 7.48...I put 6.40 on my board...this was my lucky pass of the weekend...I am 140 green and 6 over my dial...yup, I won...he was worse than me, obviously...yipers!...on to round three, for what it's worth...they call me up for the third round...

I line up with another S-10 dialed 7.22...I leave 6.40 on my car and off we go...well, kinda, sorta...I am .008 red and this qwap is getting old...I run it out and go 6.39...that is it for me so it is off to dinner with some friends...then back to my room for some rest before the next event on Sunday...

Naturally, I forget to turn back my clock so I go down for breakfast at 6:30AM only to find out it is 5:30AM...sheesh...I loiter in the lobby and finally have breakfast and then off to the track for the Drag Race for the Cure benefitting Cystic Fibrosis...I take my time shot and run 6.44...huh?...then I remember, I ran with my hood off on Saturday and now it is back on...I put it back on for a reason...btw, I was 103 green on the tree...fooey!...I go up for the first round and catch the multiple time track champeen and buddy...he dials 6.07 on his camaro..he oughta put that on his car with house paint...the car is deadly and so is he...he just got back from Vegas and the NHRA world finals...he lost first round out there with a 12 pack...tough crowd...

The tree drops and off we go...well, kinda, sorta...I make my worst run of the weekend...I am 35 red and go 12 numbers high , 6.56...wth?...my wheels came up pretty good and I guess I flinched a tiny bit and then got back in it...oh well...buy back window here I come again...second round is called and, lo and behold, I line up with the same fox body guy I lost to the day before...this time he is 50 on the tree to my 54...he runs 6.090 on his 6.08 dial and I run 6.450 on my 6.440 dial...he wins by .004...dadgumit!...

So I am done for and head home...next up is the Birds event over Thanksgiving weekend also at BMP...
