Will the alignment effect 1/4 mile performance if it is way out? For example how bad would toe out on all four wheels effect the run. I can see that my tires don't like it much at all. The tread is pushing / peeling back and cupping on one side very bad. I have since corrected the toe by bringing the fronts more inbound and the ride quality has dramatically changed. Much smoother and the car doesn't slow down immediately when I take my foot off the gas.
Man I wish I would have found this before I went to the track last weekend. Oh well...

Re: Alignment effect on 1/4 mi performance???? (Mr Mojo)
I corrected the toe out myself. I havent been to the track yet but I will say that the more I drive it the quieter the tire noise is getting! I have noticed that it seems much smoother and rolls now when I let off the gas. It used to slow down very quickly before. It's gotta be worth some time in the 1/4. I was figuring on 108 mph in the 1/4 and the best I could do was 104.xx. But most runs were 102.xx-103.xx. Had to be the tires draging. Probably the reason my tranny overheated after the fourth run! Oh well this just reaffirms my thoughts about letting someone else work on my car! I thought with alignment I would be safe. NOT!!!!

Can alignment have an effect on you 1/4 mile numbers??? Yes. I figured I'd mention this. Your rear wheels have a bit more negative camber than other cars on the road. This is for handling. You can get that negative camber in the rear wheels reduced, though it will decrease handling abilty of the car, it will make the tread have more even contact with the racing surface.
