Getting back in the Saddle...

Meanwhile, I have a very busy fall racing season planned...three on Oct...three in Nov. and two in December...all but one of these are between $10K to $50K to win...I have decided to go back off the bottom for now...yes, kind of ambitious but YOLO...first up is this, I will run the bracket class for $10K:

I got to the track on Saturday at 9AM for the gate opening...unfortunately I forgot I was now in central time...ugh...it was only 8AM but they let me in...lol...I was pitted with two of my buds including 96 collector...I got the dime cleaned up, tires set and fueled...took her for a warm up and I was ready...I had no idea what it would run since the dyno but I was hoping for the best...we know I am driving through the new converter so I figured mid to high 6.40's...I went 6.42 and 6.39..woot!...I can work with this...still 7 to 8 numbers slower than before but workable for now...we plan to pull the tranny and have the converter fixed after the new year...
So we are racing for $10K off the bottom and they call me up for first round...I spin off the line and do an "army" pass...left, right, left, right....sheesh..I run a 6.48 on my 6.40 dial...walk of shame for me...I pay my hunnert and am back in...btw, when I sat on the line spinning it gave me a .124 tree..oof!...
So, I win my second round with a 24 light to his 24 red...round three I win with a 35 tree to his 150...oops...in round four my opponent breaks out by 5 thou...I did push him hard and then drooped him on his head...thank goodness it worked...my truck is all over the place time wise and all over the track as well...
In round five I get lucky and slapped a .001 tree on my opponent...this got me a bye at 7 cars to 4 car semi's...we did some horse trading at 4 and chopped the purse up...good thing since I zoned out completely with a .147 light...qwap!...it was now after 2AM I was a bit tired but that is no excuse..anyway, I took home a couple grand for my efforts so it was a decent day..the spoils...
Next up is the Night of Fire at Gainesville on Oct. 19th...I'll post that up later...not a "chicken dinner" this weekend but it made the 7 hour tow each way worth it...right now I have my fingers crossed that "milton" does not wipe us out this week...it is supposed to come right at us...hunkerin' down...

Best to you and the rest down there with the storm. Seems like it’s been a hell of a season for big storms…
