I am back from the wars and the news is not so good...I raced the Fall Brawl at Gainesville last weekend...got to the track on Wed. afternoon after just two days off from the Orlando event...pitted, unloaded the dime and covered her for the night...off to dinner and the hotel...

Thursday morning was chilly for us at 45*...did a bunch of little stuff on the truck while waiting for the test n tune to begin...I decided to just make one pass just before they shut it down as my time shot for the gamblers race...I went 6.21 with a 24 light...they called us up for first round...I lined up with one of those new cobra mustangs dialed 5.78...I put 6.21 on mine...I was 19 on the tree to his 38 but broke out by 9 thou with a whomp...sigh...I bought back in but missed the tree with a 34 so I was toast...off to supper and the hotel...

Friday morning was chilly as well at 46*..brrrrr...lol...got the truck ready to race for $25K...we got one time shot and I was .002 pink and went 6.21...first round I dialed 6.21 to mu friends maverick dialed 6.86...he was 34 on the tree but I was .000...I did not get the bye since another friend was trip zip three pair ahead of me...second round I raced a buddy in his mustang first round...he dialed 6.09 to my 6.19...unfortunately when I let go my car went up in smoke and rattled the tires...sigh...by the time it gripped I had a .128 tree...believe me I did not let go at that number...sheesh...put the fork in me I am done...

Saturday dawns a little warmer at 49*...lmao...no time shot today...I decide to switch to the left lane to change things up...I go 10 on the tree to my opponents 66, ftw...we racing for $50K today...I avoided the $250.00 buy back...woot!...second round I was 16 on the tree but the other lane was .002...say good night gracie...sadly, my truck died after the stripe just like in Orlando...flooded over again...fooey!...

Sunday morning and it is a heat wave at 50*...lol...my buddy and I worked on teh carb hoping to fix the problem...first round I line up with a bike dialed 5.48...I put another 21 on mine and off we go...I do a pretty good wheelie and he almost flips over back wards...the air was real good...he leaves at .036 but I am .000 again and no issues...yay!, now I get the bye...oops, no such luck...the bye carried over from yesterdays winner...dagnabit...second round I get a 64 malibu wagon dialed 6.09...I put 6.21 on mine...we both leave .025 on the tree but with my foot in the radiator I run 4 over my dial..the carb was flooding again and it dies for me to coast off the track...my event is over but I had huge fun...

I went out second round every day for different reasons...my lights averaged .014 over 9 passes...oh well...we will fix the carb issue next week for sure...I may race the Birds at Bradenton next, we'll see...after racing 6 weekends in a row I need a little break...

Dan, nice set of lights for sure. But dayem, i never saw anyone with as many problems with their ride as you. You even changed cars and then just about rebuilt the truck and you're still having issues. Have you considered seeing a priest or something cause you might have worst luck than me and that aint good.

LMAO, Ralph...you are correct sir...if it wasn't for bad luck I would not have any at all...I know I am close...a little break here and there and I will take one of these deals...the carb issue is probly just some trash in the needle and seat or maybe a heavy float...we are gonna tear it completely down and put all new in next week...I will be ready for the next event to be sure...thanks Pete...hope all is well with you guys...

You know it is funny how things work sometimes...I buy a "turnkey" truck and end up putting more into it than I paid for it...oh well...we have it where we want it now and it really is running well..my Wes May carb has been flawless until now...hey, stuff happens in drag racing which y'all know...I am actually driving well so stand by and I will put it together very soon...
