Does any one have a picture of how and where the crotch belt attaches to the main clip? The speed shop mounted my anchor for the crotch belt in front and middle of the seat, does it just buckle up from there or does it run from the back? thanks guys
If the crotch strap just goes thru the "factory" floor you are not legal. Mounting it to the wood/glass floor will not prevent it from being ripped out in a crash.

Re: 5 point restraints (Mean Green 2000)
I'm not sure but I'll see where you might be able to find some real answers :)
where should the crotch strap be bolted to?
Please don't open that can of worms. :blueangel:
as much as that might be the case, people need to know what's legal and what's not
Per ther NHRA rule book:anytime you have a fiberglass or composite floor you need to install a crossmember to hold the crotch belt. I have not got a ruling form NHRA if the small metal floor retainging strip is OK to pass a bolt through. I doubt if it will be.

Re: 5 point restraints (urslooow)
On these rules, NHRA only take current rules and adapts them to the car in question. They (NHRA) have very little or no exposure to our kinds of car at a national level. I even had a division tech director tell me "That I know more about the Corvette stuff than they do" so you can see they only deal with the way the rule book is written and it was written with very old technology.
As I see it we really need to set new standards based on the speeds we're running and I have written to the ET Bracket people at NHRA for some help and understanding but this won't happen anytime soon if at all.
To tell racers they need to add crossmembers and other sturctual members to their cars may be a bit to much to ask for a daily driver but if you go be the rule book they may not be able to race.
I know we have a responsibility to keep everone safe but it hard with rules that were written 30 years ago.
The only thing I could add is that you all get a NHRA rule book and try to adapt the rules to our car. If the rule is gray always go to the side of overkill and Please make sure you have atleast the mimium safety equipment for the speeds you run. If you show your trying to go by the rules I can get the track and NHRA to work with us.
