i'm running a '67 convertible and have broken the 13.99 barrier. this means i need a rollbar. i'd love some suggestions on options that do not alter the car's appearance, if that's possible. pictures of what you have would be very helpful and i'd like to know if the single hoop behind the driver's seat would be acceptable.
thanks for any comments or advice!
i understand, it's a great car to drive in between repairs! :D
there's not alot that's original to the car, hence it's name "Frankenstein". i'm hoping to get a good pic of it in a few weeks and add it to my sig. thanks for the comments!
Don't feel bad about adding the Roll Bar if you enjoy drag racing. There is no use in having a car you don't enjoy to its full potential. You will need a five-point roll bar I made my side bar removable. Find a good chassis shop that does custom work and tell him to watch the seat and top clearances it is a tight fit. Done right it looks great I get compliments all the time. Good Luck!
I will try to post some photo's
i hear you on the hardtop, but there's no way i'll let go of this car to get one. i got some good leads today at the track for some local shops that build rollbars. if it's not too expensive and if it can be done without modifying the body much, i'll get it done.
i'd sure like to see some other C2's with rollbars to give me some ideas on what's possible. thanks,
:seeya
oops, i thought you meant trading in "Frankie" for a coupe! "i was blind but now i see". i'm going to track ebay and see if i could find a crummy one just to bolt on for the races. that would be great as i wouldn't have to alter the car and could take it off when i'm not racing, which is most of the time. great idea, thanks!
