anybody have.use one????? I won one today the Ecklers challenge. Its an acceleromoter. Says it measures 0-60 times, 1/4 times atrap speedsa, G force and braking distance........seems pretty  it says its accurate too.....cant wait to try it :D
did you win the new expensive model? even the old one is a lot of fun tho. They are pretty cool and pretty accurate if you are not a super serious racer who expects a hundred dollar gadget to be dead on.
Ken, I had one. I wouldn't rely on it for performance numbers, but it is a way to gauge any changes you make. The important thing is to make sure when you set it up, that it is in teh correct position and the same everytime.
If you keep taking it out and putting it back in, you'll never have it exactly the same.
So if you decide to keep it, install it and leave it alone, that way everytime you use it, it will give you more accyrate readings for you to compare with.
As far as accuracy, it is and it isn't. I tested it at the track, one run was off by a tenth(the mph will always read higher since it calculates terminal speed where the track averages the last 66'). On a 2nd run it was way off by about 5 tenths.
Since you got it for free, it's a nice toy to play with. I sold mine for half price to Edgar and he turned around and sold it for even less.
I have both units....the Pro and the Comp.If set up correctly they are VERY accurate.I know cause I use it at the track.Usually the time is off by 1/10th of a second to 1/100th of a second. To me that is accurate. The mph is slightly higher due to the G-Tech gets it's mph at the exact end of the 1/4 mile where the track averages the last 66 feet.
Our thanks to BF Goodrich for having the multiple sets of drag radials on hand for anyone to test! The new 18' model looks like a killer sticky tire with a brand new tread design. BFG was also the contributor of the new G-Tech pro.....thanks go out to BFG for a great service & prizes!
I have a pro, a real pita to get consistant readings, switched to a Tazzo, spot on accuracy with the clocks at HRP...Love the fact you can do just 60fts, has helped my launching ability a bunch. With no fear of the flashing lights, ruining your day.
