Just heard from reliable source (property owner) Palmdale (BernieLand) is closing at the end of this summer, no B.S. With the Night Racing at Fontana and Mopar Drag City opening, Bernie cannot offset the capitial loss.
Not done yet with breaking news, Mopar Drag City has just HIRED Bernie as Tract Manager.
I will be interviewing Bernie, Ron and Andy as soon as we can corner them. At this time they are slam ing the door in my face.

Re: LACR closing? (JIM)
Well, this is interesting. I just got off the phone with the track operators at LACR (Tim and Bernie) and it turns out that this alleged "scoop" isn't a scoop at all.
Sometimes, it just pays to go to the source before inserting foot in mouth.
Don?t know who Scoop is but it's easy to see why he is getting the "Door Slammed" in his face...he's an IDIOT. Anyone who would place a message on a this board that is a "Total Lie", not only shows the rest of us that he is a "Moron" but gives all racers & race fans a bad name.
The truth is that LACR and Bernie Longjohn think it's great that other Drag Strips are opening, the more Drag Strips the more kids we can keep of the streets and the safer it is for all of us.
I don't know who "Scoop's" "Reliable" source is but he didn't speak to the "Property Owner" at LACR and my guess this goes for Drag City as well.

Re: LACR closing? (timmys51)
I talked with Bernie Longjohn this morning. He is the OPERATOR of LACR and actually KNOWS what he is talking about.
Just for the record - Bernie told me that LACR is only in it's third year of a 10-year lease. The terms of this contract will normally be re-negotiated in about six years in order to extend the lease even further, at that time.
