WHICH is THE BEST TORQUE CONVERTOR FOR DRAG RACING?
:auto:
I am trying to get my 60FT times to Stabilize somewhat.
People at the track told me that a Lock up torque convertor
would get my car to be More consistent. Which lockup is
right for my car? I have a LT98 with approx. 240 RW HP at
3400 RPM & 335 Max Torque at 4200 rpm. What lock up
RPM should I get for this car to run at its peek consistency?
 :chevy
Re: Lock up torque convertor question (plumberh2o)
I don't think a "lockup" has anything to do with consistence times. It will let your tranny run cooler on the road. When racing the lockup won't come on. What would help is a higher stall converter. When I went fron a stock converter to a 2800 stall I picked up 0.6 tenths in the quarter with a zz4. Also dropped my 60 foot tim 20 1.69 and more consistant. LOL
