How are you guys launching with a 4L60E. I have a HD rebuilt one with a 3800 TC. By power braking( mashing the brakes and gas ), I can only get the rpms up to about 2600ish before the car starts to creep.
That sounds about right, when I had my 3000 converter in, I'd only bring the RPM up to 1800 & my 60' were 1.65 - 1.69
Now with the stock converter, I cant go over 1200 without the car creeping ..so I now leave at 1000 rpm..
I have found leaving at a higher RPM is NOT always better..I got my best 60' times ay 1800 with the 3000 converter, & another benefit is you don't get as much heat in the trans leaving at a lower RPM..
2 weeks ago I raced 13 rounds of racing in 2 days, & my 60' times were all within .010
Remember its a Bracket race, & you want consistency!! & I try to be as easy on parts as I can.. Try leaving at 1500 & let the converter "flash" & see if it helps your 60' times.. In my opinion if you are only getting .01 or .02 better 60' times by going that high its not worth it..
