I have an 89 originally equipped with an automatic. My options tag states the the car has a perf axle ratio most likely 3.07's. Is it possible that my car may have a D44 or were those only availiable on stick models. Also, How can you tell them apart (D36-D44?)
G92, performance ratio, refers to the ratio, ONLY. Different year cars with different transmissions and certain options came with varing ratios. There is no specified ratio for the G92 option. There will be another "G" number designating, exactly, what the car was built with.
Also, as stated, except for 1984, all C4 manuals came with the 44, and all autos, came with the 36. If you have any doubt, ship it to me and *I* will identify it for you. If it doesn't come back, you'll know it WAS a 44. Good luck, and...
Thanks alot guys especially you Mr Mojo! I'll check under my car today! Looks like the D44 has 2 cover bolts going across the top versus a D36 has 3. I'll defitnitly be able to identify when I go purchase one .Thanks again guys. :hurray:
