Autox'er needs some launch advice.
When it comes to getting a Vette to jump off the line you guy's are the pros, so I ask for some simple advice. I have a 1986 Z-51 coupe with a 310 HP, 388 ft. lbs of torque 383 C.I. engine that I can not get to leave the starting line at the local auto cross with out smoking up the tires. I don't have the use of a water box or a dry hop, I just have to go to the line and when the light turns green....go....and spinning wheels are a waste of time. I use 315-35-17inch wheels all around with V700 victorracers. With the stock 350, I would tack it to about 3000 rpm and dump the clutch, slight wheel spin on cold tires, but would then go. Now it just lights the tires at any rpm. Any help would be greatly apprceited.
