The owners of the 2 tracks here have had 33 rainouts this year including T&T nights! My thanks to all that made the drive for nothing....great dedicated bunch!!!
I haven't raced the '68 since April.. I'm waiting for cooler temps to get the best possible ET... It's way too hot right now... It's around 90 degrees right now with high humidity.. I expect to race the '68 again in November to see what the car will run.. Anything under 11.80's would be disappointing...
At the Corvette Challenge I race my C5 Vert... which isn't that fast.. because it's 100% stock... Well - I would need a rollbar if I would mod the C5.. and I don't want to put a rollbar into it...
It's around 220 miles from Miami to the track.. However - I always drive to Miami to Clearwater on Friday night...(280 miles). Then I drive from Clearwater to Bradenton (60 miles), then back to Clearwater (another 60 miles).. and on the next day back from Clearwater to Miami Beach...
It's actually more than 600 miles..
Don't even get me going about the rain......
Case in point: This year I had the bye-run to the final at Super Chevy Show and what does it do? It rains and they called it. I was bulls_*t after that. :cuss :cuss :cuss
Speakng of F'n rain, we got raned out yesterday. I was gonna run the truck natioals with my pick-up. And they're not gonna reschedule it. In terms of weather, this has been the season from hell.
