Rollcage Installation Special...
For those of you that currently have, or plan to have, a high horsepowered vehicle, you may want to consider having your Corvette upgraded with a rollcage for added safety and to comply w/ the new NHRA/IHRA safety rules to compete at various dragstrips across the country.
The rules in these sanctioning bodies have been revised somewhat regarding rollcage use in terms of E.T. performance. Here is an exerpt from the 2003 NHRA rulebook:
...A roll bar is required in any convertible running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and in other cars beginning at 11.99...
We've seen many Corvette's at, or very near this level of performance with just bolt-on's and some capable of 10 sec's and quicker, so if you want to visit your local dragstrip and make runs w/out constantly getting thrown out because you were to "quick", this upgrade may be for you.
Complete Details Are As Follows:
- Full 6 point rollcage (weld-in or bolt-in)
- Removable driver and passanger door bars
- 4130 chromoly steel tubing (1 3/4" dia. x .093" wall)
- Main hoop
- Crossbar (good for mounting camera's)
- Driver side main seat belt loop
- Bent rear bars to allow for/clear mini tubs
- Powder coated black
- Grade 8 fasteners (bolt-in)
- Cargo area size unaffected
- 1 pair aluminum door bar stub sleeves (protects stubs when bars are removed)
- Underbody anchor points sealed and undercoated (to prevent moisture intrusion into body and floor pan)
- 66 lb. installed weight
- Carpet professionally trimmed and fitted for O.E. appearance
- Professionally installed and integrated into vehicle
