Guys I was sent over here to get some advice. I am taking my vette to the track for the first time Wed's night it is suppose to be a 50*,, looking foward to it...... I am wanting to get some tips from you guys, mabey for launching the car off the line, I am going with just my street tires,,, What pressure should they be? I have all the basic mods w/ a ZZ4 cam. Ported plenum and runners. The tranny has been upgraded and has a 2600 stall. So can anyone give me a few tips,,,,, And with my mods,,, what do you think I can expect for a time????? and 3.07 gears
One thing you can do is go to this site.. http://www.flcorvettechallenge.com ..there are a couple of excellent articles you can read...one is in the middle section...scroll down a good bit and it covers "staging etiquette"... the other is a link on the right border of the site...scroll down to just below the NCM logo...it is titled "How to drag race"...
I just installed a 2600 converter in mine 2 weeks ago...I've been to the strip twice since and on my street tires I launch from idle....I tried 1200 rpm and 1500 rpm and went up in smoke each time...I do have 3:73 gears though...try it at different rpm and from idle and find the sweet spot for your car and set up... good luck and have a blast... :D
what kinds of times you think I will get with a good launch,,,, went out on the back roads today and practiced a little bit,,, it was fun as hell... :D
I think I will launch at 1300-1500 that seemed to give me the best launch,,, with the least wheel spin.....
