Default Calculating DA?

What readings do you need? Is there and equation?

I've seen people doing this at the track, what do you need?

TIA

I use a weather station. It reads out DA, directly. No formula needed. I'm sure there is a standard formula. I don't know it. Based on the wide discrepencies I've seen among different weather stations, I believe different manufacturers use different formulas. Absolute accuracy isn't as important as a consistant source of data. You need temp, barameter, and humidity (vapor pressure), readings to calculate DA. Good luck, and...

CFI-EFI:
I agree; it seems no 2 weather-station-makes will compute the 'same' DA at any given time.
I used to chart the weather conditions on a few DIFFERENT stations, belonging to friends.
'MY' info might read 2600; friend #1 might read 1900, and a third might be 2200, so I'd chart 3 different weather-readings/ET-predictions, using each system's computer to predict ET;
as long as all 3 predictions were with-in .02, I felt comfortable. We theorized sharing ALL info was a good idea.
I also agree with you; as long as you use the SAME information & weather station, your records will be accurate. The calculated-info is just a 'number'; the computer/weather station correlates that 'number' to a range of ET-predictions.

When I got mine (in '91?), they weren't common-place yet, and I paid $400 (I think?).
Look in National Dragster, or check with Biondo Racing Products; I think they carry weather/data systems.

I am sorrry to inform you the committee has considered your acquisition of a weather station but must inform you that you will not be allowed to use said equipment at next year's Challenge...

Due to your high finish in the points standings it would be an unfair advantage...only those participants finishing fifth or higher shall be allowed to use such equipment..

Thank you..... The Committee

Mark, Tag seems to be the most popular and you can get it at www.summitracing.com just type in weather station as the keyword.

I bought my Altronics, PA2 ( http://www.altronicsinc.com) from Biondo Racing (http://www.bioboracing.com). At that time, now too I think, Biondo offered better pricing. $400.00 seems to be the minimum for a full featured unit. Biondo sells the TAG unit, also. Good luck, and...

Mark, TAG has a couple on ebay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=48624

You can sign up for the forum on http://www.tagsystems.com and they will notify you when they have others for sale.

There are also two others being sold by individuals and they are prior model.

You can also go to http://www.biondoracing.com/WeatherStations.shtml and they sell a few others.

Lastly, try a post on the our own for sale sections. I picked on up a couple years ago from someone who had not even thought about selling it till I offered to buy.
