Hey !!!...leave me alone, you bully.... :D ...I'm trying to save money for the stroker... :lolg: ...besides, you never know what's out there till you try....I can always buy a brand new one with a quick phone call...
Nah...it's not like that...I bought a brand new helmet in September of 2002...I was brand new to drag racing and it looks just like any expensive full face helmet....I only recently took out the lining to find out it was made in July of 2000 but apparently is only DOT or "M" rated... ...bad surprise....I'll most likely end up buying a Bell, SA2000 helmet I have my eye on but I figured I'd give this way a try first...ya never know... :D ...not to worry guys...what few brain cells I have left, after going through the 60's, will be appropriately protected... :lolg:
I always tell people that you get what you pay for. And helmets are no exception. In an accident, you will only get the level of protection that you pay for. So if you value your face and brain, buy the best that you can afford. don't use a comfort factor in buying helmets. Open face helmets may suffice. But for ultimate protection, buy a full face. My friend was in a wreck with an open face helmet and sustained lots of small cuts from flying glass. If he had worn a full face helmet, it would not have happened. So you take your chances when buying an open faced helmet. You make the choice.
Thanks Vince...this helmet was delivered to me today except in black...I'm used to full face but I want to give open face a try...supposedly better visability and I can wipe the sweat out of my eyes just before I stage...very important in Florida... :yesnod:
