Default Under Hood Temperatures

Anybody have an idea what under hood temperatures are on a C3 small block with uncoated headers? I'm trying to get an idea of how much potential there is in ducting cold air to the carb. Thanks.

I've got a real good idea. You'll be melting wire looms about the time that you start making good horsepower.
The way that I got fresh air in to the engine was with an L-88 hood and air box. I highly recommend some sort of fresh air inlet.
