Default launch technique?

I was going to try my Z06 out at the drag stip and was wondering what a good launch technique might be for the stock tires and stock car.

Done anybody have an opinion?

thanks

Lets see, I have the following input.

October, Mid 70's
Run 1, 60' 2.234 launch at 2200-2500.
Run 2, 60' 2.350 launch at 2500-2600.
Run 3, 60' 2.250 launch at 1800-1900.
Run 4, 60' 2.313 " "
Run 5, 60' 2.251 launch 1500-1600.

I am finding that I need the leave the line rather soft, get rolling then mash it.
The last few runs where bad. I had one slip with a 14.1 :bb . I had to lift twice in first, once in second and on the 2-3 shift... It was a little hairy. Hope this helps, and good luck.

All times are with a 99 MN6, Stock except for a Blackwing. Traction will be your biggest hurdle.

You have to learn how to slip the clutch alittle off the line then hammer it. Try leaving at 3500-4000 rpm and slip it " this should get you some good decent 60ft's in the 1.8 range on FI Super Tires.

IMHO you want to have the PSI in the rear tires down to 20-22 lbs with 40-45 in the fronts to help with weight distribution.

I also suggest that you go through the water box and try to heat the tires up some.

I have an MN6 and if I launch at more than about 2200 rpms I get wheels hop.

Good luck and stay safe!
