Re: E-town opens this weekend (robz)
Will they prep the track this weekend.
If you get to the track as early as I do (6am for a day race)you would see Charlie out there sweeping, scrubing and putting down the VHT. This is a NHRA National Event track, they know how to prep, now what the difference and why does the track go away???
It's simple. To many car including our Vettes running "STREET TIRES".
Street tires ruin the track surface by pulling the VHT off the track, where softer Drag Radials or ET Streets lay rubber on the track surface.
You never hear of a traction problem on Sunday because very few if any run on street tires on Sunday.
Till everyone goes to a "RACE TIRE" will have this problem at times.
If it's like opening day last year, count me out. The track was so slippery I got my car completely sideways around the 1/8 mile mark, I stayed in it and straightened her out but it wasn't something I'll be looking forward to doing again. Guys on full slicks weren't even hooking.....
Right now I have alot of stuff to do around the house, but, I'll be there on the 13th!! Been waiting all winter for getting back...Let's all hope mthe weather co-operates!! :hurray:
John, the weather is best early saturday. Do you think they will prep the track Sat morning. Im a bit hesitant because I lost it in the right lane a few times and would be more comfy if I knew they had prepped it. Any thoughts??
The Track is what it is anything is better than looking at my car sitting up on jack stands and snow on the ground. I am jonesing from drag withdrawal,
Next week is the first Import Vs Mussel and if weather permits I will be there! :banghead: :auto: :hurray:
E-Town was alot of fun today SATURDAY. I was able to put the names with the faces. Great to meet a fine bunch. I felt the track hooked decent today. Had better luck in right lane. Only got 3 runs. It was a mob scene with 150 street cars and maybe 20 slicks cars but still alot of fun. I even left some rubber for you guys tomorrow. :yesnod: Have fun.
