If anyone has any experience using ART CARR transmissions/converters, please let know what you think of them. Even if you heard something from someone else, I would like to know. Thanks
I use their converter. My tranny is custom built from scratch by Superior Transmission of Boynton Bch. They are building me ask we speak a 700r4 full manual valve body, reverse shift pattern capable of handling up to 600hp.

Cej, I would NOT purchase an "off the shelf" tranny if I where you. I gave TCI ALL my specs (everything they asked me for) and went through 2 of them. First on lasted about 50 miles and the 2nd lasted about 2 weeks, and didn't even beat on the car. The TCI trannys were $825 from Jegs not including the converter. These were TH350s. Superior built me a KICKBUTT TH350 but cost me $2000 installed (the drum alone cost $400). My TH350 has made at least 50 passes at the track and LOTA playing on the street with NO PROBLEMS. This should tell you something.
When you guys talk about Art Carr are you talking about the real Art Carr in California or the Shop in Texas that managed to steal his name.
I do not know much about the Texas shop but the real Art Carr is a legend when it comes to building transmissions that last. You can find him at 1-800-278-2277
