Default Basic ET street questions.

Ok, beginner ET street user questions here.

How many passes does the average set of ET streets last for? I’m just looking for a general number. I will be running the MT 26” tire on a c5 IRS car.

What is a good pressure to start with in the rears/fronts?

What is a good burnout strategy? Do you roast them like drag radials?

How can you tell they need to be replaced? On drag radials you just look for cords, what about these non radial tires?

Any tips for the first time ET street user? I’ve ran on drag radials quite a bit.

I would start at app 22lb of air, & see how they hook up, & lower the air pressure as needed. As for heating them up.. I used to spin them until I just saw white smoke.. NO need to ROAST EM.

You will be able to tell when they need to be replaced when your 60' times start to slow down, or when your not "hooking up" as well as you were when they were new..

About the only thing you should be aware of is how the car handles.. if you have regular Radial front tires, & ET Streets (biased) tires on the rear, the car will feel "squirrely" from 1/2 track to the finish line..

on the et streets the pressure should be 14 psi give or take 2 psi. according to web page. I am on my second set this year but I have done a lot of test and tunes. These tires hook much better then the nittos dr, or stock tires even cold. They need very little burn out to hook. I agree with the above post on them getting squirly. My advise would be to drop pressure to 16 and run them the first time with no burnout. Get a feel for the traction and how they feel on down the track, then heat them as needed. Good luck, and Ill bet that after using these you wont go back to radials unless some class of racing forces you to.

I got 139 runs out of one set before seeing cord on the ET Street.

My next set I gave up on at about 120. They did not show cord but i was having trouble with consistency so I bought a new set.

I run them in the 17 to 12 range depending on what the track wants wants.

I run the fronts ( I am presumming you mean the skinnies) at about 40 to 45.
