Anyone Figure out how to make a 800 hp C5 hook and live at the drag strip
I have a 422 twin turbo that should be done this winter
I already have
CCW drag pace
FLP level 4 with harden output shalf
3500 converter
3.73 gear
DTE trans and rear brace coming
I was thinking of the QA1 shocks will this help my 60 foot
I don’t want to go to a solid axle or a turbo 400 or glide
But I do want to run deep in the 9's so that means I need good 60' and for it to live
Thanks
They exist and do live. How long any certain component lives is the question.
On the shocks, i am running them but nowhere near what you are at rwhp in my car with 403. I have seen very little to no difference but then again, different animal. You want to talk to Major Spray for starters on that et with AT
Thanks Redgar
I talked to one other guy that said he change from et streets to slick and put the QA1 on at the same time and he was not sure what helped but he gained a almost 10th in his 60 foot 1.54 to 1.46

You need to upgrade your torque tube contact Carmen @ 631-841-0779
Get solid mounts for the motor and tranny this will add a lot of noise but it is a must . You need to eliminate as much flex as possible.
Drag shocks help I use the QA1's. I would think that the 373's are to much gear are you running a solid setup? I would drop to 342's and run a 28" hoosier.

Good Luck in the 9's
I am running a solid Roller cam. I have the hooser 28 on CCW's.
Were can I get the solid Mount for the motor and trans and I call Carmen on the torque tube and left a message. How much do you think the QA1 helped. I have spent so much I was thinking of holding out for a good used set of QA1 but if it is a must I will get them.
I talked to Carmen He seems like a nice guy with lots of good advice.
He said to start with a solid trans mount The road noise is not to bad and that the rear and trans are the hardest part to make live
seeing paul's car run in SC Aiken was really impressive. even more impressive was the thrash to change the tranny after the break.
the docs and paul have really done a fantastic job and the car is more than impressive!!
looking forward to seeing you guys run again. maintenance on the c5 is pretty complicated. getting the drivetrain locked down tight should really help as well as a super strong input shaft.
some of the LPE turbo guys were killing a tranny/rear every weekend.
when the ring and pinion fails, it ain't pretty!!!
I wish it was.. Most of the guys were getting 10 or so runs. I got lucky and got 23 passes and about 4,000 street miles.. The 4L60's are really not that strong when they are seeing 1000 plus hp.
Ok Here is what I will try to do to make it last and run 1.45 60'
1 I have a level 4 FLP up to level 5 on first problem
2 DTE Brace
3 QA1 shocks
4 solid trans mount on first problem
5 trans cooler
6 CCW's with slicks
7 3.73 gear with hardin output shafts. 3.42 or 3.18 on first problem
8 3500 Converter
What do you guy think
I would like to get 30 passes and 6000 street mile or Just Fix it once a year in winter
