A few questions that I need answers to before I get started.
1. What size wheels are good? I''m thinking 17x10 or 11. My 305-30-19 Pirellis are not so hot for drag racing, I'm told.
2. Drag Radials or ET Streets? I don't know one from the other. But I would mount the Drag Wheels and drive to the track with them on. 200 miles round trip.
3. Ok to leave the front wheels/tires as they are, for a while anyway?
Anything else anyone want's to contribute will be appreciated. My sig is posted so you can see what I'm running. A4, stock TC, no front line brake lock yet. Best,
Look in the for sale section here to see if you can pick up some drag radials already on rims to make it easy.
If you are buying all new then here goes.
tire choices
ET Street is bias ply. There are you can get them in 17" or 16. It is not recommended you use radila front tires with them. You can purchase a full CCW package for around 2K that will give you full wheel tire set with skinny bias ply in the front.
Drag Radials
you can get 17" or 18" from some manufacturers. BFG is the leader thus far but MT makes an ET Street radial that many have said hook beter thus far. Nitto makes a harder compound that is better for street driving but has not hook as well or consistent.
Wheels
you can start with your take offs if you still have them. If not then the 17" wagon wheel is very popular as is is the Z06 wheel which is a little wider. These are the front wheels we are talking about. If you want to stay with 18's then BFG has a drag radial for you. You can alos use the C4 Grand sport/Zr1 wheel that is 11 inches wide and fit a 315 drag radial.

He said he is going to drive 200 miles roundtrip to the track...to me that says drag radials only...no bias, no skinnies...with that kind of roundtrip each time you race, Nitto's may be your best bet...not as much traction as BFG's but you won't kill yourself driving in a rainstorm for 2 hours either...

... 100% Chris, Ralph, & myself all have a 200 mile round trip to E Town when we race..
Drag Radials are the only way to go if your planning to drive that far..
Thanks to all who have replied. There is a BFG Drag Radial set up for sale in the parts section. Wheel size is 17x9. Seems a bit skinny for drag racing, but the asking price is $750 (chrome wheels). Might take less, who knows. What do you think? The no cost alternative to my 19" CCW/Pirelli set up is the Stock runflats......Thanks Again,
