Yes, I know about those, thanks.
So, I take it that nobody on here uses dry ice? I'm not able to leave anything on top of the engine during a run. In the LT5- no clearance at all. It would require a high-rise hood.
I was thinking of putting some dry ice in a gym bag or something, and laying it on between runs.
Does anybody do that?
I dont know how good dry ice would be.. it is VERY cold almost TOO cold, & I think it would only cools the points of the manifold where its in direct contact ..
If you do not want to get Racing Cooler.. I prefer plain ol ICE in a bag.. its good for 2 runs it leaks, but you can get it for $2 a bag at E Town
What about that C02 injection?
It looks like a Nitrous bottle, you hit the button and it injects the C02 wherever you want to put it. I forget who makes it.

I don't even open my hood between runs. My car seems to run faster as she heats up!
At a rental last year (2003) I made hot laps 4 at a time & each set my best run was the 3rd or 4th run.

No, I don't and have never heard of anyone who's tried it...don't know why...I've used the plain old ice bag, but carefully, since I have the dreaded opti....your's would be fine...see you on the 5th...
Look for "Racing Cooler" its a fireproof bag, that has 1 or 3 gel inserts..you freeze the inserts & use one at a time.. I put it on top of my intake instead of ice..
They dont leak & you can leave then on during the run.. They Racing Cooler have helped me keep my running temp to 160-165 run after run..
Yes I have one I used it a few times. It's like new if you want it. Cost me $160.00 you can have it for $80+shipping. I'm in South Florida. Unfortunalty I can't really ise it on my LS1. It works!
