I understand its a L98. My question is did this car come stock with a one peice rear main seal in 85 also in 85 did they use aluminum heads. To me the motor doesnt seem to match the car. It is a Vette motor just a newer motor i was wondering if some one could use those number i gave to tell me what I have.

That is not the original engine. The one piece rear main seal was introduced with the 1986 model year. Aluminum heads started in late '86 in convertibles. I have no reference to block casting number, so I can't help you there. The heads should have a longer cast number, similar to your block number. The Corvette L98 aluminum heads have casting numbers ending with 128 or 113. The meaningful number is cast into the head in an area that can only be seen with the valve covers off. Since it has new freeze plugs it may have been assembled with parts from several sources and may not conform, strictly, to any particular year model. A good many of the parts span a number of years. Are you looking for anything in particular at this time?
