Is that a good Cam for me???
i didn´t find an Answer in German Forum´s so maybe you Guys can help me out.
I drive a 59 Corvette,(4 Speed Manual) my Problem is a Cam in my Engine thats to hot.
Must be something like 290-300 Degres!?
My Engine inside is a 400 Sb with a Compression 10,5-11.
It´s a 600 Edelb. Carb, Edelb. Performer Inntake, big Heads (No Number or Company Name on it) but big Runners and Valve´s look like 2,02 and 1,6. It have 1,6 RollerRockers and Headers an 2,5 inch Exhaust. I like the Power from 2,500 Upm on!!!!!!! Realy!
I hate the bad bad Idle! I have to go to 1.000 Upm under that it´s too shaky.
My Question- A friend gave me a Cam and Lifters from Rhoads.
Is that a good Choice for me???
I need more Punch from idle to 3500 Upm and i realy like to have a much more smooth idle.
So - should i change to Rhoads or to something like Edelbrock Performer Cam?
The spec´s for the Rhoads System are:
Your cam has 222 degrees duration @ .050" lift with a .455" lift at
the valve on both intake & exhaust when a 1.5 rocker ratio is used.
The cam was ground on a 112 lobe spread and advanced 4 degrees. I
would suggest that you put the cam in straight up, no advance or
retard, for best results.
Thanks for any help
