I have a 385 hp fast burn crate motor with zz4 bottom end. Im selling my mustang to supercharge my corvette and buy a crotch rocket. What model to you guys suggest running on this crate motor. P1sc? Also what do you guys recommend for a electric fuel pump, I also need a clutch to replace the stock one. I need one that will support lots of power. Also will this motor pull good with a 3.08 rear end and a 4 speed? or should i get one of those five speeds to go along with it
Do you want a roots or centrifugal(sp?)?? That motor is 9.6:1 compression ratio isnt it? You'll have to lower your CR if you want to run much over 2-3 psi....I have a 177 Weiand on a 8.5:1 CR 350 crate motor and I am pushing my luck a bit at 7 psi. This is in a 75 Corvette, is yours going in a 77? My 4spd and rear end gear are stock, I think my gear is probably 3.23 or 3.08, and I have no problems. A five speed would be nice though!
Im going centrifigal with a procharger. I have three hoods incase it doens't fit i plan on cutting around the pipe so i can drop the hi rise hood down.
ive also been looking at the holley balck fuel pump 140 gallons per hour. Is that enough for 600hp. I also need to know if the 4 speed can be rebuilt to handle this amount of power. Its a borg warner with bad synchros. I plan on mating this with a spec stage 3 clutch. An msd digital 6. And im also contemplating if im gonna need an intercooler to run 6 to 8 lbs.?.?.?
[QUOTE=supervett77]Boy this forum is not that active!!!!!!!!!Im terribly dissapointed...[/QUOTE
This question comes up all the time and no one really seems to actually install a supercharger. It becomes annoying to hear people always talking about doing the installation and yet it never happens. Hard to get excited about another dream.
My own 75 has been blown for 5 years now and it is well known on the forum.
If you actually do the installation please take lots of pictures and post regualarly on the progress/ problems and solutions
LOL well sometimes we have them but it takes a while to put it all together. a lot of planning to get it right, a lot of money to buy the parts, a lot of questions so as not to make to many wrong turns. and thats just the engine, as you know we have to build a car to handle it also. sometimes these projects drag out as money or time comes and goes.hell i've been waiting 2 months for the pistons from JE and am stoped in my tracks. dosen't mean it isn't happening eventually. so even if one person asking the question is or isn't going to get it all together others off us are listening , hopefully learning and if everything lines up oneday driving our new supercharged monster street machine.
PS Norval beautiful car man. i am building my BBC engine for a 75 also but it's a long way from done.

You dont need an intercooler for that little amount of boost, even at your comp ratio your ok with a procharger, they are not well suited for c3 body styles, major fitting problems with a sb ,forget a bb unless you go reverse rotation with major mods.I would go with an aeromotive pump.your gear ratio is fine as you will have more power than tire anyway.
While there are a number of forum members running a blower are there really any members running the supercharger??? I read lots of guys dreaming about it but has anyone done it on our forum?? Post pictures.
afraid i have a ways to go. bought a car for the engine.
the preped block before i sent it out but of course it cant be finish honed till i get the pistons.
have all the other engine parts but still an ungodley amount of work and money to go. got to back half it, add a roll cage ,get a proper tranny and rear end. LEARN TO DRIVE IT. and go have some fun at the track and on the street. i have never taken on a job of this magnatude. i have built some bikes from the ground up. built a few engines but this is the first time i have attempted anything like this. will it end in a deffeatr and very expensive gargage sale. not my usual style but who knows. iotherwise you guys will know where i stand cause i will be asking a LOT of questions as this goes along.
