i don't think GM would build a 4 pot Ecotec unit that could make 400+bhp, at least not with a warranty anyway!
dont forget Mitusubishi's EVO FQ400 basicaly had a HKS forged engine! and that think cost an arm and a couple of legs!! personal, if this is true, its got to be a V6 or bigger!!!
it's called the LC3, V8, 4.4 liters , 4 valve, DOHC, Eaton supercharged , steel crank, going in the new corvette. I'm told it is a supercharged version of the premium cadalliac engine. Ok so i have looked it up. it is the northstar supercharged engine. guess it's not that new. only that it will be coming out as a crate motor.

I was thinking that might be it. There's an article about it in the May '05 issue of Hot Rod magazine. And it's designed for a rear wheel drive configuration.

It must be one hell of a motor if it's supposed to replace the LS2
Very nice setup indeed. I have designing a 2 seater (one in front of the other) for a year or so in solidworks. It uses a carbon wrapped /chromolyspaceframe. No body design really though, Im a machanical/electrical engineer. Not an aerodynamicist. Nothing a few weeks of Fluent's CFD software couldn't take care of, I just don't have it though. Hopefully RIT will decide to get it soon.
So far it looks like a ultima GTR is the most feasible route to automotive Nirvana.
That little screamer would be perfect for that car. Might not fly with emissions though. Hey I got an idea, marry that motor, ultima chassis, with alternative fuels like alky or propane and market the vehicle as "An ecologically responsible compact 2 seater". Wow that sounds so good Im almost believeing my own Bull sh#$
