I dug out the digital camera to take a few pics.

I'm using the ProRam with the Lingenfelter 90 degree elbow and a 58mm TB. The ProRam needed quite a bit of work to fit.
1. milled 1 inch from the intake bolting flange

2. took 1 inch out of the Lingenfelter elbow

3. had to modify one fuel rail to allow the IAC plug to be attached - the fuel rail was in the way after the TB got lowered

4. modified the thermostat housing so the lowered TB doesn't hit it.

It required more work than I thought it would but I think it's going to work out well.

FYI - the motors on a wierd angle in the pic because the trans is on the floor behind the car

Nice pics... Just a note, might wanna change the last slash in the link, Netscape isn't smart enough to figure it out.

Do I see a S/C alternator setup up there?

Whats the motor specs?

I like it. I'm still gleaning info on this conversion. I think one of the short Weilands fits with much milling. I'd like to try it with a 4bbl like TB. Did Accel supply the fuel rail?

Lookin good Mike!

Why did you decide to dump the Super Ram? Possible Boost leaks?

What did you have to do to the fuel rail to clear the IAC motor connector?

Could you just add a throttle body spacer to clear the connectors etc, asuming you did not have the line up the super chargers discharge tube with the TB?

What advantage do you think the 4 barrel design would have over the 90 degree bend?

Mike

Where could I get info on the Proram? our intake designs look similar. Would it mean that ProRam is designed for pre-86 block like mine.

For those of you that don't know me this is my latest installation mech roller 383 ci Dart heads Weiand team-g intake Demon 825 CFM double pumper carb.

VetteRacer282:
Thanks. I think I fixed the pic links for the Netscape people. Yes that's a blower bracket alright - Procharger P600B to be exact. I'm going to test it noramally aspirated first, then the blower goes on.

The motors consists of
Crower forged 3.75 crank
Crower rods
JE pistions
Edelbrock Victor Jr heads
custom CompCam - hydraulic roller (.586/.562 on a 114 lobe separation)
And the Accel ProRam.

Aaron's 87:
The fuel rails came with the intake. I'm not too sure about the other intakes fitting. I thought this one was going to fit without modifications when I first bought it, boy was I wrong.

bill mcdonald:
I was actually planning on using the SuperRam until I got the gaskets for the Victor Jr heads. They come port matched to a FelPro 1206. The ports are much larger than the SuperRam ports - you can actually see into the top of the head ports once the SuperRam is bolted on. Very bad

Your right, I could have added a throttle body spacer. It just never occured to me

gkull:
Out intakes do look similar. I think the only difference between early and late heads is the bolt angle. I've heard you can oblong the intake bolt holes to fit both heads, but I'm not too sure.

The only place I saw some info (I didn't really look too hard) was at http://members.aol.com/bigturbo1/misc.html
I bought it from them.

Mike, I love the setup! How much was the ProRam with rails and elbow.

Bill - I haven't looked inside the elbow, but I think Accel cahrges a bunch for it and it looks like a flow killer. On the other hand, it allows you to run your stock-type TB and run your cables closer to stock. If I went the elbow route, I'd have to implement my own design.

Wow, I've thinking a victor jr. and pro ram would be cool. I'm pretty sure that your running the elbow because of the blower your planning on, but are you sure about hood clearance? Seems like a 4bbl style would be a lot shorter.

PS please dyno the motor NA as I have yet to see any dyno results on these heads, keep us posted. Good Luck

I got the tranny in last weekend and have been working on the fuel system and other assorted crud. I actually had to cut one of the tubes off my lingenfelter long tubes and remake it so the plug could go in. It's not too spiffy or pretty but it will do for now.

If all goes well I should start it on sunday.

korvetkeith:
I've checked the hood clearance a bunch of times. I used PlayDoe (sp?). I put a big ball of it on top of the intake and closed the hood. The PlayDoe stuff gets squished to about 3/4 of an inch thick, which is enough clearance for me.

I did dyno the motor NA at the engine shop, here's a link to the complete info sheet.

The image is huge though...

It made 480hp @ 6000 and 450tq @ 5000

Mike, where are you checking clearence at with the playdough (sp?)

I noticed on my Super ram I had about 1/2-3/4 an inch clearence dead center (where a carb would go)

But over the throttle body I had only 1/4 of an inch or so.

I may have some problem now as my paint is cracking in the middle of my cowl.

Are those numbers from a 383. I'd like to put those hp #s to wheels on a 406 with a mechanical roller and 4bbl style throttle body and probly higher compression (I assume because you'll be running a blower). Do you think thats possible? Edelbrock claims 530-580 hp on those heads. Did you do much tuning when you dyno'd it?

thanks keith
