Default Crankcase vent a PCV setup.

Years ago the 3x2's and intake came off my L-68. It now sports a single Holley. When the switch was made, the vent and PCV setup was never correctly addressed. When I got the car I temporally added a baffled grommet and PCV valve to the passenger side valve cover into the carb (about 6") and put an open breather on the drivers side.

Looking at the setup for the 1x4 L36 shows the PCV on the drivers side, running across the front of the carb, and into the side of the carb. The crankcase vent runs from the passenger side valve cover underneath the air cleaner base and into the flame arrestor.

I added up the cost to duplicate this setup and its going to run about $100 in parts. Since I don't have the original air cleaner base the 90 deg tube alone will cost $25, hose brackets $12 each, etc.

Is there anything wrong with my current setup? Do I solve anything routing it like the factory did? I didn't like the fact the PCV valve was such a short distance to the carb, maybe pulling in oil easier? And maybe more fumes would be pulled in with the vent running to the air cleaner? I'm trying to make everything look stock where feasible but $100 for some elbows, brackets and hose... .

Thanks.
