Default 4"+ SBC stroker question

So all you guys running a 4" stroke crank or better in a small block, what oil pan are you using in the Corvette? Did the rods clear without modifying? What's the depth? Brand and part number would be great.

Thanks!
Dan

I have the Morroso 8 quart made for 4 inch stroker stock block SBC.

The reason I didn't mention it is because it was not a Vette friendly item. I had to space the steering ram lower on my 79 to clear the deeper front oil pan. It's also 8 or 8.5 deep in the back. That's not really a big deal because my Hooker SC collector flanges are actually lower.

The ++++ of this pan is adjustable crank scraper and baffles. I have never had the oil pressure even fluctuate even in extended road racing track high "G" turns.

Thanks for all the replies.

korvetkeith - yep, I am

CFI-EFI - are you running the Canton road race pan they make specifically for the 84-96 Corvette? How do you like it? Are you running a 3.8" or longer stroke crank?

gkull - I appreciate the input. I'll be running mine in a C4. The factory C4 pan is 7" deep and I'm already running a 7.5" deep pan. I haven't had any problem with ground clearance, but it does hang down a little lower than my headers, so I'm reluctant to go 8" deep. But I looked at a Moroso pan that is probably what you're running and I like the idea of a deeper front section and the full length scraper. Hamburger makes a nice looking stroker pan also that has a deeper front, but it's also 8" deep at the sump. I'm just trying to figure out what all the options are out there. BTW - what heads are you running on your 427 Motown?

I am not actually "running" it. It came with a new, never fired, engine I bought. He had installed it in his C4, and he apologized for the scraped up decals on the pan. Apparently it is tight, but it fits. I tore the engine down to see if it would pass muster, and I haven't reassembled it yet. It has a 4.00" stroke.
