Has anyone had a problem with the PVC system sucking oil into the manifold. I have valve covers with custom baffles. I also have alluminum plates bolted to the rockers to keep oil splash down. I am running the PVC on drivers side and a breather to the throttle body on the passenger side. I am sucking oil into the manifold. Could this be a problem with the PCV line being to big? Should I restrict the PCV line....any advice would be appreciated
i get oil inside my intake manifold too on my lt1.. couldn't really figure out why.. i was guessing it was from the tube that goes from my passenger side valve cover to my tb.. sucking oil thru that into the tb and into the intake?
looking forward to development of this thread..
the lt1 intake has just a real short u-shaped hose from the pcv right back to the intake on the driver's side.. to fit a fuel filter in there would take some longer hose and zip ties (or duct tape) i'm sure..
i'm thinking mine is coming from that tube from the passenger side valve cover to the throttle body still, as now that i think about it, haven't noticed any oil on the pcv valve!
if anybody has comments on my problem would appreciate it.. i know it's a bit different than the title of this post, but.....
I had this problem with my superram i thought it was the pvc also, it turned out to be the intake gaskets
If the cylinder head and intake aren't perfectly parallel this happens. This happened to my 406 (new motor since 383)
It was very obvious when the intake was removed. The lower part of the cylinder head where the gasket should
have sealed was wet with oil. Just a suggestion i hope its less of a problem for u guys. See Ya!! :chevy
I had this problem with my 406. So when i assembled my 383 i laid the intake on
without gaskets and looked
down the front of the motor. It was easy to see why it was leaking. There was about
a 16th of an inch space
on the bottom. I bought the supperram new for the 406 and the heads weren't
milled. Kinda strange it did the
same thing on the 383 different block with new heads. I corrected this with thick
intake gaskets. No problem
since then. Good luck :chevy
