I plan on rebuilding the 327 L79 for my '64 vert with the LT1 solid camshaft and run 10:1 compression with Perfomer RPM aluminum heads. I've been considering installing aftermarket port-injection FI like Holley, ACCEL or whatever is best, or most recommended by you guys here. Has anyone else done this? Any thoughts, ideas, bad experiences? I'm beginning to stray from the 'original' look, but am still stuck on using the L79, as my racing days are over, though I still want power.
As to transmission, I'm looking and reading threads on the Tremac 5-speed and even just now read about the new Muncie 5-speed. I'll use one or the other.
I'm beginning to feel like an old fart who cannot makeup my mind, as I keep bouncing back and forth between building something new and a bit different (look under a mid-year hood and you've seen 'em all) or sticking with the old parts (461 / 462 heads & intake, etc.) with LT1 intake. See? I'm doing it now.
I'm not a newbie to this engine thing, but I'm no engineer either. I build my own stuff. So, if you guys in the 'know' can take a bit of time, please let me know what you think.
