Timing Chain Lubrication Question
I am wondering how the timing chain gets lubricated? Is it lubled soley from splash from the bottom of the pan foward under the timing cover?
(Would that be only when you apply the brakes, the oil move forward in the pan?"
I do not see where there are any holes or anything else that is set up to "spray" oil on the chain and was wondering how it gets lubed when running?
I have a gear drive in my 67 BB and also running a Moroso Lifter Valley Oil Baffle to keep the hot oil off the bottom of the intake manifold.
Thank You

The crankcase is filled with an oil fog/mist from all the spraying and churning going on. Also, you have oil coming forward from the oil clearance of the front cam bearing and front main bearing.

That has worked well for a lot of years. However, if you are still concerned, some people have been known to drill a hole (.060" is the size I recall) in the camshaft oil gallery plug behind the cam sprocket.
RACE ON!!!
