EFI usually has a better power average, better part throttle and drivability, and better mileage. A well tuned carb can get close. I don't find EFI hard to tune, but you have to know what you're looking at. You're just changing jets and weights through a computer. Your car shouldn't be that hard to tune. You switched to a 730 right? The MAP is harder to tune, but lots of people have done it.

TNT, don't give up yet. A Carb is definitely less expensive & simpler, but i assume you already have your efi operational...so no real benefit there. Like Aaron said, you still have to tune the carb and timing curves, only you'd be swapping jets, springs and weights instead of punching keys on a computer. The drivability of EFI is far superior to a carb set up...at least from my experience. Remember carbs and cold rainy mornings??? Remember messing with choke settings...giving up and getting a manual choke???...etc...etc...Yuck!!! EFI compensates for current conditions and should provide great drivability across the spectrum. Your setup cannot be that unique and there are many many successful examples of HiPerf EFI setups. Plus you had to expect some challenges after swapping from MAF to MAP. You'll get it worked out...hang in there.

It's a myth that you even need a choke. I haven't had one in years. I was happy that Demon carbs don't even come with one. Any well tuned engine fires right up.

I don't believe either has a HP advantage. I do believe that some of the newest types of fuel injection have some real benefits with enough sensors. Like sequential. The best thing is they are unaffected by “G-Forces” in any XYZ axis.

Cheaper, and I don’t have to pay s100’s for a program that might not work, or own a lap top or some kind of programming box. I have considered going EFI over the years. But I just keep thinking which would be more fun with. EFI, or for the same price a 8/71 BDS blower!
