Whats better internally or externally balancing a 496 BBC? 4.25 stroke with a 6.385 rod. I'm trying for over 500hp . Whats everybodies opinion on the Eagle or Scat cast-steel crankshaft. It won't be raced, well maybe once to see what it will do in the 1/4. RPM's are going to stay under 6500.

Internally balancing is always better. The balance is closer to the center of the crank. You will rev alot quicker and smoother. I've had exceptionally good results with Scat. Every one I've had balanced did so really well, according to my machine shop. I have an Eagle crank for another stroker motor and expect the same results based on research. I deal with small blocks and would expect similar results with big blocks.
