Default Big Block Swap

I'd like to swap a big block into an 82 vette. will this fit? And if not, what corvettes 68-82 are good candidates for big block swaps? Also, are there any companies that make aftermarket aluminum radiators that will fit vettes of this era. I need one that can handle a 500 horse or so big block :chevy

I have very little experience with C3's but since 68 to -what-74 could come with a big block...one shouldn't have a problem installing one. I could see it getting real tight as later models had more "stuff" to work around.

Its not a problem Nexus...any C3 can take a big block. It fits tight tho. As for the radiator, I didn't look at it yet so I can't help you on that.

Don't get me wrong, big blocks are cool, but big blocks are Big $$$ expensive. Plus when you drop in a big block you add about 100 lbs right on the front end. Why not drop in a big small block. Like a 406, 415, 434, small block Chevy. You make big block power with small block weight and will spend less money to make the horsepower. Why have to spend the extra money to haul around the extra 100 lbs the big block weighs, but it is your car, your money. Can I have your small block cross fire motor complete?

When small blocks are taken out to large cubic inch like 427 isn't the block being pushed to way beyond it's design limits? The extra weight in the big block is there for a purpose. Big block heads also easily outflow the small block heads. Aftermarket big block heads flow 325-340-370 cfm from places like Brodix right out of the box at reasonable prices. How about the small block heads? If you are going for big cubes why not start with a motor made designed to big cubes? If you really want big cubes the 454s will easily go to 496 and the new 502s right from the factory are way beyond the cubes of any small block.
I am prejuduce?. I have both a blown 460 and a nitrous 355 and the torque of the 460 is waaaaaaaaaaaay beyond the small block. In a drag race the nitrous 355 is probably close but around town the big block rules.
