Default Need changing my weak head Springs...

I have the Trick Flow G1.. And they come with some weak spings that 1.260 size springs.
First off there good to 525 lift. So that trickflow claims. I've heard that they are poor springs from the factory and they tend to crack really fast. Also I'm ussing the zzx-3 cam so I'm already at there limits!

My question is that I want to replace them with a bigger spring Dia.
Can I do this with out cutting new seats? ??
I heard that you cam get these heads with 1.44 springs?? But that might be a diffenenet casting.
Thanks for ANY help...

measure the diameter of the existing pocket or you can do a visual. If you 1.26 spring has @ a tenth of and inch of copper shim showing around it 1.46 are not a problem.

I had twisted heads years ago - I had them repaired and sold them - they have the .525 and low durration ratings for a reason.

I forgot do say yes I had 1.46 and a much bigger cam on them. But I can't remember if they had to be cut when I had them set up at a shop.

I bought twisted heads when they first came out. On paper and price they looked great. What happened was, they released an untested bad product. the guides were gone in a short period of time. Just blue smoke out the exhaust pipes. So they said no problem! (just my R&R down time :mad ) They sent them back with taller bronze guides to help stablize the valve. Well they went out again and they repaired them again. I had, had it with TW and sold them. All refreshed still in the box. They were all ported with bigger springs for my roller cam. That's when they put the word out on limits of lift and durration. So they didn't have so many irrate customers.

I like my Dart heads and didn't want to go overboard. So I bought them and should have just slapped them on. But Monty has since given me a math lesson. You buy Darts for $1200 Then you get them ported and flowed to low 300 cfm for another $500. Then you do this and that and all of the sudden you should have just bought Brodix - 18 heads for $2000 that flow 325 cfm out of the box.

The same math applies to AFR and CNC or people that sink $2000 into chevy heads.

I'll tell you I had mine tick flows tested after allitle home porting and they flow so increadable numbers. But like you said there Valve guild problems are making me want to see them too. After what I hard you say.. I'm thinking of selling mine too.
Again I'm not using the lift that you did. Mine maxs at 525.. But still I would hate to tear the engine apart everytime to get these fixed. Besides what I really need is some 76cc heads to low my compression. (Turbocharger will be on my car over winter), I think AFR is the only compainy thats has 76cc heads and I heard that they have some of the BEST quility of any heads.

Or do you have any other recomindations on heads that I could use(that have 76cc chambers)?

Thank you,
Shane

I don't know if you have intentions of doing the whole motor or not. From all that I have read and heard. The correct way to get power is small chamber and dished pistons. I saw a NO2 motor going together and he had 18 cc dished with some kind of 60 or so cc chambers.

George,
While the math looks good "on paper" ask Monty about his custom intake because yours won`t work with an 18 degree head, i don`t think there is an intake that will fit the 18 deg head and also allow your hood (or any other Corvette hood) to close. Also ask about headers because yours won`t work either, also a cu$tom set as the ports are in a different place. You will need special pistons, yours are for 23 degree heads (18deg is different) and finally i bet the rockers and pushrods are different, my T&D shaft rockers(23deg) were about $750 ,i think his Jessel shafts were closer to $1000.
Just "food" for thought! ...redvetracr
